Crested Butte, CO is an amazing town with a wonderful ski resort. Our team at SkiSync loves the town of Crested Butte so much, we opened another office there off of Bellevue Ave. It's a great place to enjoy the outdoors and definitely a great place to work."

About the Crested Butte Ski Resort

Slightly off the beaten path, Crested Butte, Colorado lies 230 miles southwest of Denver. It’s located within the borders of the majestic Gunnison National Forest and the Elk Mountain Range of the Rocky Mountains. When traveling to Crested Butte, travelers are rewarded with breath taking views of the Rockies and its wildlife. Though the village has a remote feeling, the Gunnison Airport is just 30 miles away and Montrose is approximately 90 miles from the mountain.

So, what the heck is a "crested butte?"

A butte is a mountain that stands separate and distinct from others. It’s the perfect definition for this mountain and a personification for the local residents. Starting with a base elevation of 9,375 feet, Mt.Crested Butte has a vertical drop of 2,775 heart-stopping feet, also accessible to hikers at 3,062 feet. Sixteen (16) lifts serve the 1,167 skiable acres of terrain and move 19,850 people per hour. Long lift lines and overcrowding are never a problem on this mountain where over 75% of the terrain is intermediate to advanced. With annual snowfall averaging 300", Crested Butte offers an extensive variety of activities. Take a 2.6 mile run from Peak to Treasury or, perhaps that Atlas Snowshoe loop. There’s also the DC Canaan Terrain Park, Kid's Park and back-country skiing in the Elk Mountains. Maybe you’re up for the Tubing Hill for some slippery daytime or evening fun!

The town of Crested Butte marches to a different drummer…

If you’re craving a Big Mac, you’ll probably want to consider another destination. While some ski areas start to look more and more the same, Crested Butte remains the same charming ski village it’s always been – with a few fabulous upgrades. Visitors enjoy family owned and operated restaurants, bars, and shops. Dine on fresh sushi at the Lobar and be sure to stick around for a metropolis inspired club scene. You can also hit up the Secret Stash for some of the locals' favorite pizza followed by live music at the Eldo. Whether your favorite flavor for Apres Ski is fine dining and local artisans or kicking back with friends enjoying great music and Colorado ale, Crested Butte has incomparable nightlife to satisfy every taste.

When the colorful wildflowers growing on the summer slopes of Crested Butte begin to give way to the blazing gold of the autumn aspen leaves, the locals start waxing their boards and skis in anticipation of the fresh powder. This ski season, we recommend you go join them!
